I'm not too sure of the names but I'm almost certain that there are one or two Indian restaurants which are vegetarian. I'm also certain that they are pretty good as I remember reading about them. Sorry that I don't know the names but I think that they are on the north side of 74 th street.

Dosa Delight on 73rd Street &37th is great for vegetarian Indian meal.  There are a number of Indian and Nepalese places that offer Vegetarian Thali--one of my favorites is Lali Guras on 76th Street.

JudgeSudie: Sorry I'm late in replying. I would think that if your friend is not from around here, the authentic Indian vegetarian joints on 37th and 73rd(?)(across from Zubzi) would be a real adventure. Stuff is very spicy. One the places shows Bollywood movies. It's fun.

Raja Sweets is vegetarian and is Indian. really good stuff. I think that may be the only vegetarian place in the neighborhood but any of the Indian-type places will have veg-friendly dishes, and plenty of them. (bengali, pak, indian, nepal)

My vegetarian friends love this area.

I'm pretty sure Rajbhog at NW corner of 37th Ave & 73st is 100% vegetarian.
