Good restaurant with small room for private party
« on: September 16, 2011, 10:42:09 PM »
Hi all, I'm interested in hosting a gathering of about 10 people in at an excellent local restaurant.  The ideal setting would be one where we can have a room to ourselves...though it's a party, we also need quiet for some speaking.  Thing is, it's a Saturday night though it's a ways away so there should be time to make a reservation.  Any cuisine is fine as long as it's a good restaurant.  Any suggestions?  Thanks!

don't know of a local restaurant with a private room.....Buccaneer Diner on Astoria Blvd and 94th St has a small private room in the front.  Good diner food, wide selection and a full bar.  Donovan's in Woodside has a few small room also.

Check out Pio Pio on Northern-- they have private room(s) downstairs-- could be fun and relatively inexpensive for a party

my sister recently did a get together at SriPraThai in Woodside. They don't have a private room per se but had set up a nice long table for us in one area and were very accommodating. They also have a lovely garden, which we didn't use that day because it was raining. This is a very good restaurant but gets crowded at night but it was ok for lunch.

Private room for ten could be tough. I recommend La Cabana on Northern/86 or Uncle Peters on Northern/84.  Pleasant service, good food and not noisy. I have been to both with large groups and found them both very accommodating.

khaabar Baari has a downstairs available. They are probably better than kebab king, which also has space (upstairs). La Fusta has a side room - that might be a great choice.
