Original American Chicken
« on: February 25, 2008, 03:37:41 PM »
The former legal/notary storefront located at 78-09 37th Avenue (next door to the new health food shop) has a few DOB permits posted on its windows today.  The permits indicate that alterations are being made for a new eating establishment, and according to the DOB website, a permit for new signage has been filed and granted.  Name:  Original American Chicken.  This sounds like it could be a chain restaurant.  Anyone have more info on it?  The name alone doesn't sound too promising.

That's pretty funny. The name of it sounds like backlash against the Korean fried chicken trend.

Rethinking the possibilities here, I wouldn't mind having a chicken wing place similar to Atomic wings close by.

I actually like Unidentified Frying Chicken.  I hope they continue to have a business.
They seem to have a hard time because of the location..

I looked it up, doesn't seem to be a chain. I hope it's not just fried chicken.  However, it's better than a pizza place.

Maybe it's a rotisserie chicken place? They could sell all the sides and . . .

The place you are referring to: Broadway bakery&Pizzeria on 37th ave between 80th and 81st Street has a stop work sign on it. I don't know what that's about.

O.K. so I'm starting to feel like the neighborhood blabbermouth.  I just read a post on Chowhound stating that a new Dunkin Donuts will be opening near Starbucks?  Info on this?  Anyone?
