The New Visions Democratic Club was created to provide a forum for the community to gather to discuss issues impacting all of us, politically and communally, nationally and locally.

Meetings are held the second Thursday of each month (except for the summer) at 8PM.
Place:  The Jewish Center of Jackson Heights
           Corner of 77th Street and 37th Avenue (Near Met Supermarket).

Truly affordable housing remains a huge problem for many people.  At this month's meeting, we'll focus on this issue and find out what is being done to make more housing available especially for our seniors.  This is an issue that "hits home," so to speak, for many of our club's members.  Mr. Lafarge will speak about the Public Advocate's Report on Senior Housing and Ms. Fisher will give her perspective on the issue.   Please come to the meeting and bring a friend.  We welcome everyone at the New Visions Democratic Club.

This month the New Visions Democratic Club will hear from candidates for election to the 39th Assembly District and to the 13th Senate District.  They have invited Assembly Member Jose Peralta, Senator John Sabini and Council Member Hiram Monserrate.   Please come to the meeting and bring a friend.  Everyone is welcome at the New Visions Democratic Club.

The next New Visions Democratic Club meeting will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2008 at 8 PM at the Jewish Center of Jackson Heights, 37-06 77th Street, Jackson Heights. 

The guest speakers for this month's meeting will be judicial candidates for the Supreme Court - Judge Bernice Siegal and Judge Lee Mayersohn.  They will also be hearing from Assemblyman Jose Peralta.

The next New Visions Democratic Club meeting will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2008 at 8 PM at the Jewish Center of Jackson Heights, 37-06 77th Street, Jackson Heights.

The guest speakers for this month's meeting will be John Gutierrez, political consultant (and TV personality) from the Miram Group, plus the local elected officials speaking about the recent Democratic victories from the White House to the NYS Senate.

The New Visions Democratic Club will be meeting tonight, Thursday, February 12, 2009 at the Jewish Center of Jackson Heights, 37-06 77th Street at 8 PM.

Members of the Board will be sworn in.

There will be a report from Assembly Member Jose Peralta.

Finally, there will be an endorsement vote for the 21st Council District race.

The New Visions Democratic Club will meet tonight at 8 PM at the Jewish Center of Jackson Heights, 37-06 77th Street. 

The guest speaker will be Robert Donovan, Co-chair, New York Democratic Lawyers Council.
He will discuss the new Voting Machines that the state is proposing to use in upcoming elections. The discussion will focus on the pros and cons of using these new machines.

The New Visions Democratic Club will meet tonight, May 13, 2010....


Tonight's meeting of the New Visions Democratic Club will be quite exciting.

We'll hear from NYS Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli who is running for reelection.  He'll speak about his recent report on the contributions of immigrants to NYC's economy and will answer questions from the audience.  The comptroller will also have staff available to help you find out if you are owed any money from any state agency that you might have forgotten about or didn't know was due to you.

We'll also hear from Bryan Pu Folkes and Francisco Moya who are running for the 39th Assembly seat vacated by Jose Peralta's election to the NYS Assembly.

Next month petitioning will begin for all of the above mentioned positions and for the 13th Senate seat and for our district leaders and state committee members.  Poll workers will be given their applications at the June meeting.

So, we hope to see everyone tonight at the Jewish Center of Jackson Heights, 37-06 77th Street at 8 PM.

I don't know for sure... I only repost messages they send to me.  But I think their meetings are the 2nd Thursday of each month at the Jewish Center of Jackson Heights, 37-06 77th Street at 8 PM.
