They probably put people back in the system after 4 so that by 6 they are have used up their chances to postpone?  Just kidding, I don't know.

But on a serious note, I have a name many find hard to spell.  I have gotten notices with Z in my name, without the z, with a y for the i, etc.  Check to see if the recent questionaire has your names pelt differently than the one you justs erved on, that may be the reason for the quick turnaround ...

You are totally right - my name was misspelled.  I think I still need to return the form, though.  In the meantime, I read something on the juror website that indicates (I think) that I could be called to serve in a federal court within 4 years, even though it is 6 for state. 

If this is true, the state should really make that clear when they give you that "get out of jury duty for 6 years" letter.

I had a coworker that got called for federal in the summer ... exepcted to go from Elmhurst to Riverhead. Pray you never get federal!

Also I would return both forms, xeroxed, and even make a call to get one name version wiped out of the computer, if I were you.

Now it is only 2 years because of the high rejection rate and a lack of qualified people!!

I always though is a random lotto system that they mail the form out. So far I have not get any, in my entire life, don't know why.

In the past 10 yr we moved 4 times, and each location my wife always get selected, and I never get any.

Hi Shelby, I served at the court house in LIC and it was quite well run and enjoyable. The historic building is beautiful and the court bailiff gave us a private tour when all was done. It was a civil court issue, so wasn't an exciting case persay. A fall on ice.

Previously I served in Brooklyn criminal court on a pedophelia case that was so high profile it became the subject of a CSI episode. That case was truly gripping.

I love jury duty. It's not just that I feel it's my duty to serve, but also it's just interesting to see our legal system at work.

They make it very easy these days with phone in the night before and free wifi at the courthouse.

    I don't know if it's your situation, but if you aren't registered to vote, and don't have a drivers license,  you are probably won't be called.
