Has anyone ever submitted a Metrocard to the MTA for a refund and been successful? Several years ago I had a card that became unreadable and it still had almost $20 on the card and about two months ago another Metrocard became unreadable after one day and it still had about $35.00 on the cad. In both cases I had all the information that was requested including the receipt and and after I sent them in I never heard anything. Is this a lost cause and should I put less money on the per ride cards in the future?
