Parklets in the street, could this be done here?
« on: September 27, 2020, 07:43:56 AM »
Channel 4 had a story on this effort this morning, and I found an article from July about turning parking spaces for street dining into small 'parklets' in Hudson Square. The BID got a grant to kickstart this effort and it appears to be still going strong.

I suggested it here in 2016 Could we get something like this (parklet in parking space) in JH? but I realize that my suggesting in online in a forum is not likely to get any action. I guess it would take a motivated person or group to get it going. I agree it's a nice idea.

I may be misunderstanding, but it seems to me that many of the local outdoor dining areas already use planters of some kind. All in favor, anyway!
