The entire situation seems to be getting worse since the first post was made, and we can add a noticeable spike in crime as well. Our local officials are basically useless. Danny Dromm will at least respond and then do nothing, but if you are unfortunate enough to live in Moya's district, good luck to you. He can't be bothered unless it involves some sort of feel good photo op.

Thanks, Captain Flannel.  People in this community are calling for more funding to help re-open schools, more COVID 19 testing, more garbage pick-up, public toilets,  more affordable housing, more this, more that,...I don't disagree with any of it, but marvel at their ability to blithely ignore the crippled financial condition of this city, state and country.

cycled around Astoria today.  Very clean overall, nice layouts with some actual thought for curbside dinning.  trash cans empty,  little to know litter on ground, no homeless sleeping in any childrens parks. 

Using the pandemic as an excuse for the neighborhood turning into shit is weak sauce.  we have all paid taxes, the city still has money. 

Again, this is weak leadership.  We should not have to live in filth.

I have always picked up the litter in the street outside our building.

DEFINITELY much more trash being left these days. 

The fact there are trash receptacles at the end of the street seems to be irrelevant.

An education program is needed for those who don't care (or know) about public hygiene.

Anyone know where the local leadership is on restaurant re-openings in NYC?  Seems like they are all MIA. Haven't heard a peep out of Daniel Dromm since the start of the pandemic.  I wish they would rally around our local restaurants that are really suffering.
