Covid-19 Memorial / Naming the Lost
« on: June 27, 2020, 02:19:44 PM »
Several community members and I began a community memorial in Travers Park (78th St. near 34th Avenue, on the chain link fence). Please feel free to add your loved one lost to Covid-19 (there are currently supplies there you can use) and come to bear witness to the scale of our community's grief and loss.

People have been adding tributes to their lost loved ones. Please come to add yours (there are usually supplies) or create your own.

Just be mindful about the elements - packing tape will make a home made creation waterproof, and non water based inks (sharpies, highlighters) / crayons for color do well with rain that will still seap in even with tape.

^I'm happy to do it. It's also a healing effort for me, having lost someone very dear to me to Covid-19.

Unfortunately, after a week someone walked away with the supplies left for people to create their own tribute (as well as the basket to hold the supplies in). The waterproof index cards are on the pricey side.

Anyone who wants to contribute a small donation to replenish the supplies, please contact me via private message.
