Building a stronger community in the face of COVID-19
« on: March 12, 2020, 04:08:58 PM »
Dear Neighbor,
Many of our older and at-risk neighbors are frightened to leave their homes and to go out in public given the COVID-19 outbreak.
As a community, we must stand together and help our neighbors. Before this virus spreads further, we should arrange to have phone numbers of those who are most impacted.
I live on 90th Street and am happy to run errands. Feel free to reach out to me at 646-210-4495.
I call out to others to join to build a strong network.
Nuala

I'd also love to hear suggestions on food banks, homeless shelters, and domestic violence programs that need help right now!

Isopropyl alcohol... which is the major anti-microbial ingredient of Purcell Hand Sanitizer...  is often available at the Dollar stores inexpensively.

(In the case Purcell is sold out)

that is a perfect solution, and the sanitizer i usually choose. it's also in short supply in some places though.

I saw a recipe for making reusable disinfectant wipes:

1. Sanitize a glass jar and fill it with cloths or rags
2. Mix 3 cups water, 3/4 cups rubbing alcohol, 6 tsp dish soap (can add 10 drops of essential oil if you have it)
3. Pour mixture over cloths. Once you've used them all wash and repeat.
