La Gran Via Bakery
« on: March 28, 2019, 01:47:05 PM »
I was in the area of 78 & Roosevelt early this afternoon at 12:45 so I stopped in La Gran Via Bakery to see if they had any dark breads and they didn't.  The place had only one customer standing having coffee.  The place is quite large and not at all appealing.  They have tall tables with no chairs.  Who drinks coffee at a Bakery/Coffee shop standing up.  When I walked by yesterday at 2 PM there wasn't anyone in the place.  Its possible that they do most of their business in the evening and on weekends.

This is a branch of a Brooklyn-based Cuban bakery. They mostly do cakes and premade sandwiches and their coffee is quite good.

Jhjefe:  "Most of the World".  Really?  Not a very intelligent comment.

I can attest, it’s actually very common in other parts of the world.

I’ll say, though, didn’t LOVE the coffee here.

I have been past this place and have gone in, what is their product?? Everything is basically showcases of over the top wedding decorations and such. No one in there, hardly any bakery products for such a huge place..maybe a front for something else?

it's not a front. this isn't Ozone Park or Carroll Gardens in the '90s.
