Agree re: Jackson Diner. Someone recently posted on JH Families saying that Jackson Diner was great for good old-fashioned diner comfort food. Which confused me, because it's an Indian restaurant. But is there an actual diner by that name as well? What is the name of the diner in the 80s on 37th that is not Jahn's? Because I think that's what this person meant, but I'm not sure it's called Jackson Diner.

Lazy journalism has made for repetition of the same old places in article after article. It's so old. If the writers would just get out and walk around a bit, they might add some real service to these articles.

When my hair salon moved to Northern Blvd., I was suddenly introduced to all these wonderful new bars and restaurants on Northern in the 80s.

We went to Addictive Wine & Tapas for the first time a few weeks ago, and it was awesome — the food, wine, and ambiance are all great. And there are no TV screens!

Maybe they were thinking of the 50s looking diner Jax Inn on Northern Blvd.
Also, the original article didn't mention Jackson Diner at all, but I think it is a neighborhood favorite! Great food, though certainly not American diner food.

Yes. Hate it or love it, it’s the most famous one for people who aren’t intimately familiarized with the neighborhood and know the other options. The fact that it’s been in business for so long as an anchor on 74th St. is chiefly the reason for its notoriety. Can’t say that about many other places.

it really was excellent many many many years ago, when it was tiny and down the block -- the space that Al Naimat is in now. there were a couple of other departed places from that era, too, like a vegetarian south indian joint called Udupi Palace.

 We had foodie friends who were house sitting for a couple of weeks in NYC. They ate out alot all over the city and said
the worst meal they had in the whole time was at Jackson Diner. This was about two years ago. It's a shame because
they have a nice space and could really make it something with more effort. We try to tell people to go anywhere but
Jackson Diner and wince when it is selected as a destination here.

Same here! We are fairly new to JH (six years) and ate there maybe twice since we arrived. The second time was about 5 years ago and I remember making a mental note to never go there again. Very sub-standard food. Amazing they are able to ride a very old reputation.
