Wine of the Day: Le Cirque, France

Big and bold, with smoky, spicy black cherry, cassis and garrigue aromas with a long finish. ts a blend with 50% Carignan, 25% Mourvedre, 25% Syrah. Le Cirque is crafted by the progressive Les Vignerons de Tautavel Vingrau (VTV) cooperative in the village of Tautavel. Aptly named after the vast, amphitheatre-shaped bowl of vineyards stretching north towards Vingrau. Its excellent with grilled meats and vegetables. La Cirque will be available for tasting this Saturday.

Marqués de Vizhoja, Spain

Grape: Albariño, Loureira Blanca and   Treixadura

This new vintage of young white wine made by Bodegas Marqués de Vizhoja in the province of Pontevedra, in the Southwest of Galicia, in the bordering area between Spain and Portugal, next to the Minho river.
Color is  straw yellow colour with some greenish notes. Very clean and very bright. On the nose it has a medium-intensity nose, aromas of white fruit, floral reminiscences and fresh herbs. Good and fresh attack. It is a white wine with a light and tasty mid-palate which ends with a pleasant bitterness. It is an easy drinking wine.

Wine of the Day: Gran Vinaio, Spain

Grape: 100% Red Grenache

This crowd pleaser Gran Vinaio was the talk of the night at The Latino Show Magazine Awards 2014t!

This Gran Vinaio is a marvelous and unique Grenache. Deep concentrated fruit shows through with black opal and brick red at the core and throughout. The nose offers bright red fruit layered with white pepper and herbaceous anise. This wine has a twist: The approach is soft and elegant, the middle is fat with good fruit and the finish brings a masculine and powerful onset of tannin – top side, barrel, spice, deeper fruit on the middle-side and a lingering finish.

Wine of the Day: Pandeia White

Grape: Assyrtiko 100%

Let us take you to Greek! Pandeia is the mysterious Greek goddess of the full moon and soft dew, both of which disappear in the morning sun. Elusive to mere mortals, little mention of her fleeting beauty remains, but her namesake wine conjures her image and rewrites her myth.

Like the yellow- green cast of moonlight in the glass, this wine is aromatic with cream and fresh peach, with a medium body and a long lasting ripe peach and white fruit flavors, supported by citrus notes. Both memorable and ephemeral as the goddess herself.

This wine will be available for tasting tomorrow from 6 to 9pm.

Sorry, no image due to upload size limited.

Bailly-Lapierre Cremant de Bourgogne Rose Brut, Burgundy, France

Grape: 85% Pinot Noir and 15 % Gamay.

Bursting with bright strawberry fruits and a breathtakingly clean, persistant mousse that balances this totally dry, delicious bubbly,
with a delightful, light, strawberry wine. It has a bright, bubbly character and acidity that gives extra life to this classic apéritif wine. There is just a hint of softness from the fruit to finish.

Addictive Boutique Winery ~ Wine of the Day

Wine of the Day: Los Haroldos Chardonnay, Mendoza, Argentina

Grape: 100% Chardonnay

Chardonnay 2011 Oak: This chardonnay from Argentina shows a golden yellow color in the glass. The nose has many tropical fruit and green apple notes to it. This wine also shows vanilla and oak notes when tasting due to it being fermented and aged in French oak casks.

We enjoy this chardonnay a lot and believe it also to be cellar worthy for a year to 18 month. Rich, buttery, slightly oaky and still manages to show its fruit. Lump crab cakes, snow crab or Pacific salmon will all pair well with this wonderful chardonnay from Argentina.

Addictive Boutique Winery ~ Wine of the Day: Plic Plic Plic

It's Plic Plic Plic outside and it's a Plic Plic Plic on the inside!

Wine of the Day: Terra de Falanis 'Plic Plic Plic', Montsant, Spain

An interesting blend of Samso (Carinena) 50% and Garnatxa (Garnacha) 50% from the little known region of Montsant, Spain.

The grapes are grown at high altitude (400-600m) and the wine is aged in a mix of French and Russian oak barrels. Very typical of the area, the wine has plenty of body, ripe/dense fruit medium tannins and a touch of spicy/vanilla oak.

Get to know more about this little known region of Montsant. New York Times had written an article about it. http://mobile.nytimes.com/2013/02/27/dining/reviews/spanish-reds-that-emerge-from-the-shadows.html

Wine of the Day: ASSYRTIKO SUR LIE
Assyrtiko 100%

Greece is one of the oldest wine-producing regions in the world. The earliest evidence of Greek wine has been dated to 6,500 years ago.Nowadays high investments and winemaking talent resulted in modern wines as remarkable for their sophistication as for their individuality.

ASSYRTIKO SUR LIE is dry. A golden hue with a refined bouquet of grapefruit and exotic fruit combination, unctuous, with a full body and rich, lingering aftertaste. The wine matured for months on its lees in stainless steel vessels, this implements full body and buttery structure.

ASSYRTIKO SUR LIE will be available for tasting tonight!

Wine of the Day: PAGOS DEL GALIR GODELLO LÍAS 2012

In the Spanish denomination of Valdeorras, we can find the Virxen del Galir winery that is actively recovering some very rare and nearly extinct native grape varietals. One of these grapes is Godello, the white grape used to craft this incredible white wine.
A golden-yellow colored wine with green reflections. The nose of this wine has loads of fresh white fruits alongside great floral aromas and a tough of raisins and limes.
The palate of this wine is dense and fresh with a long passage that is very expressive of this unique varietal. We can also clearly taste that this white wine has been aged in its lees.

OUR PERSONAL OPINION:

This is a very silky and fresh white wine that is very expressive and has been a pleasant surprise for us.
