The breakfast burrito - I tell them to cook it extra long, then it is hot. Come to think about it, they could microwave it for a minute or so, then crisp it up in the panini grill. Have to mention that option when I'm there next.

I just have to give a huge thumbs up to E77 tonight.  A friend called me tonight and wanted to meet up at E77 for a quick cup of tea.  It was approaching closing time, yet they patiently remained open for us.  That demonstrates great customer appreciation!   rockon

Maybe this has already come up on this thread, but I am wondering if Espresso77 could put in some kind of white noise machines or something that would allow people to have conversations without everyone in the room hearing every word?

I want to love the place, and I almost do - but it doesn't feel like a good place to go have a chat with a friend or a date or whatever if everyone can eavesdrop so easily.  Or maybe the patrons that were there the other day when I was there just had loud voices??

Months ago I was having coffee with someone and the noise level was out of sight and only three others plus the staff in the place.  I haven't returned since.  I've never experienced this in Lety's or Starbuck's.  The place is a noise chamber but great coffee.

Do they play music? I appreciate establishments that don't play music, but I guess it helps drown out the sounds around you.

If there was any music, it was so soft I didn't notice it.  I was seated near the counter - the place was pretty full.  I could hear every word of the conversation of the couple by the window, on the other side of the room.  Even though I found I could still concentrate on what I was doing, my concern is more that I don't want to be listened to if I go to have a conversation with someone.

I do think there are white noise systems expressly for this purpose.  Many businesses need and use them.  It's why I'm bringing this up - not to make a complaint but to perhaps help them improve if this issue is driving away other customers.

I don't remember music at Espresso 77.  A sign would help, "Please Speak Softly" or words to that effect.  I'm a regular at Starbucks and always sit (if available) at the last table on the left.  The area to the right when you enter (4 tables) is a problem  with four tables so close and it happens often when a cell phone goes off and the conversation is loud and long.  They have music at Starbucks but its soft with a lot of selections from the 1940's.  I plan to speak with the Starbuck's manager about a sign, "No Cell Phones".  When they go off common courtesy is head for the sidewalk and talk but this never happens.  On many occasions, I've asked cell phone users to lower voices.  Starbucks/Espresso 77 customers have a right to peace and enjoyment.  Speak out against annoying loud mouths and cell phone users and keep complaining to Management.  I have no complaint when it comes to small children because that's what children do and they're cute.

Agreed.. I HATE hearing someone else's stupid conversation.  People think they're so important that we all care to hear what they have to say?  I hope you get your sign in Starbucks.

I dont like coffee shops, but I came here 2x this week for internet connections and a drink and I surprisingly liked it. !

they do play music there, (really good music too, in my op)

Its not a library, but im not totally familiar with coffee shops. are you supposed to be quiet? if i went to a packed coffee shop and everyone was completely silent I would think something was suspicious. if you wanted quiet, you can just drink at home right?

I don't want total quiet. I actually like the soft comfortable buzz of many conversations going on around me, but I would prefer not to be able to make out every word.

I understand that if people are speaking at a table that is one foot away that it might be inevitable, but in the case I was mentioning I was clear across the room and could still make out every word (and I wasn't trying to eavesdrop, I was actually trying to work!)

My question was more about possible sound-dampening architectural elements -- if they exist.  I don't know anything about this kind of thing, though I do know that different spaces have different accoustics.

There is music, but I agree with Jeff that it's usually good. Smiley  However I always bring headphones to coffeeshops as inane conversation is everywhere. Smiley

And yet another hooray for Ambrosia Bakery's Chocolate Chai Scones (one of this week's flavors at E77).  Possibly their best so far!

I should have asked when I stopped in earlier today, but I noticed that bacon and sausage were available when I ordered a couple of breakfast wraps.  Are these new choices?  Hubby and I enjoyed one of each today.   rockon

Also forgot to ask, does anyone know if E77 still sells hard boiled eggs?  Would like to know just in case I'm in one of my extremely rare low carb moods.
