Title: Cobbler / Shoe Repair in the neighborhood
Post by: JA on March 06, 2019, 10:01:49 AM
After 3 winters of heavy use, my favorite leather boots are starting to fall apart and tear at the seams. I used to go to Woodhaven Shoe and Cuff but they have since closed. Any recommendations on a good local option open after 6 on weeknights?

Same here. I have a pair of leather boots that I had resoled about two years ago at a place called Jim's Shoe Repair on East 59th Street in Manhattan. They did a fabulous job, and left my boots looking like new! They need minor heel work now, so I'd also prefer going somewhere local.

Columbus Shoe Repair
7905 37th Ave, Jackson Heights, NY 11372
Open until 7 PM. Closed Sunday.

It's between Central Cafe (deli) and Appetitto.

They do great work quickly at a reasonable price. Same day shine and heel replacement on my work shoes. Also fixed my wife's wallet.

Another +1 for Columbus! They are my go-to in the neighborhood.

The folks at Columbus are really great.
But- if anyone's looking for something super Queens-y...there is an old Chinese man who does shoe repair on the sidewalk under the LIRR at Broadway and Whitney. Maybe not for a big job, but for small repairs it might be nice to try him out. He's always busy.
