Title: Co-working spaces?
Post by: nyc312017 on November 23, 2019, 01:56:52 AM
I'm looking around to find co-working spaces in Jackson Heights, Elmhurst and Woodside. I'm really tired of having to go all the way to Manhattan for something like that. I can work at home fine, but I need a change of scenery to be productive. Somebody on Instagram said that there's a co-working space near Wendy's (Broadway and 37th Road), but I'm still investigating that. The Queensboro restaurant (80th Street and Northern Blvd) said that they turn into a co-working space during the day M-F (when the kitchen is closed) for a low fee (contact the restaurant for more details). Elmhurst library is nice, but it can get crowded and loud. Please share any ideas and info. Thank you!

People have been talking about this for a while. I wish the Thai place next to Starbucks would have coworking during the day to take business away from them. What's this bway one?

“ Coworking Space in Jackson Heights

If you work from home and are getting stir crazy?  Check out our local co-working space.

The Jackson Heights Development Group is a co-working space at 72-24 Broadway on the 4th floor (walk-up).  The office is directly above the 74th Street/Roosevelt Avenue train station where the E, F, R, M and 7 line meet.

The concept is simple we offer a sun-filled office space and a rooftop garden where people can work without all the complexities of running an office.  JHDG pays the bills, cleans weekly and makes sure there is toilet paper in the bathroom and copy paper in the printer so you can focus on your work.  We keep the costs to a minimum.  No security deposit or long term lease, just pay for the months you need the space.

The space can be used in many ways.  You can come most days and just get some work done, you can reserve the space and hold a large meeting at a conference table for up to 14 people, you can have a large presentation meeting for up to 35 people or you can have a wine and cheese on the roof followed by a presentation in the office.

It is a single room with a large conference table, couch and coffee table and an alcove with a desk and a curtain for privacy.  There is a kitchenette with a fridge, microwave & coffee maker.  There is a small bathroom.  The roof garden has WiFi, plugs, a table & chairs, benches and lots of fresh air.  For the joint space to work requires flexibility.  If one of the other members needs to hold a large meeting they must reserve the space and mark it on the office calendar, which closes the office to others, but generally, it is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for people to come and go.

Also just found The Austin Space in Forest Hills. It's open 24/7.

The Queensboro restaurant says: $100/month, access 9 am - 5 pm M-F. Coffee available. Not a bad deal.
